Corruption has been widespread in the country for a long time.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has made it clear on many occasions that his government is committed to fighting the graft without fear or favour, even if it means he will have to create more enemies in the process.
Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader and NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi, however, feels the government led by President Uhuru is simply talking and not acting.
"Having head enough on the handshake, we demand that we must now start seeing handcuffs. We must move from the handshake to handcuffs," the ANC party leader said over the weekend.
He even threatened to call for mass action should the government continue talking and not acting on corruption vice including sacking corrupt leaders.
ODM(Orange Democratic Movement) secretary-general Edwin Sifuna in response via a statement on Twitter to Mudavadi's expected call for mass appeared to be a mock.
"Don't hold your breath, " reads a tweet from Sifuna.
When asked why ODM was offended with Mudavadi's proposed call for mass action, he responded sarcastically.
"Not offended. Tickled. I am sure you did get the same feeling if you heard I'd be leading the first manned mission to Mars, " the ODM secretary general said in a statement on Twitter.
