A search at TV star Jacque Maribe’s house has led to her arrest.
After recording a statement on what she knows over the murder of Monica Kimani on Thursday and Friday, crime busters combed Maribe’s house looking for exhibit in the murder.
This is after police unmasked Joseph Irungu, Maribe’s fiancé, as the chief suspect in the murder.
In the Saturday raid, DCI George Kinoti said investigators had recovered a gun that Irungu used to reportedly shoot himself, clothes used during the incident and cash in dollars.
The dollars are suspected to have been stolen from the deceased.
There are reports also that Maribe ‘participated’ in burning the white kanzu which Irungu is said to have been wearing on the night of the murder.
“I know one of the charges she will face is trying to conceal evidence about the murder after participating in burning the kanzu,” the officer told this writer.
Remains of burnt clothes were found behind a house in the compound Jacque lives.
The newsreader will spend at least two nights in police cells before being charged on Monday.
Also arrested in connection with the murder is Brian Kasaine.
Kasaine is said to be the owner of the gun Jowie used to shoot himself.
