Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has vowed to make a political comeback in 2022.
Muthama who did not contest for any political seat on August 8, 2017, general election, says he will be ready in 2022 for bigger roles.
Speaking in Tala on Sunday, Muthama asked his supporters to remain patient, stating that he still has the urge to lead and push for the people’s interests.
Muthama said he took a break from politics to reflect on certain issues.
He said Kenyans need aggressive leaders to achieve development.
The former senator said the country has adequate resources but leaders are using them to fulfill their own interests.
He asked Kenyans to demand service delivery from their leaders.
Muthama said the constitution gives the people power to recall non-performing and arrogant leaders.
The former senator, a critic of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua said he feels sorry for Machakos residents.
“I warned Machakos residents against re-electing Governor Mutua but they never listened to me, now see what is happening,” Muthama said.
Muthama said he will continue pushing for electoral reforms and justice in the country.
He said the country cannot heal and reconcile without electoral reforms and justice.
There have been claims that Muthama intends to contest for the Machakos gubernatorial seat in 2022.
