Former Subukia Member of Parliament Koigi Wa Wamwere has predicted tough days ahead for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This follows Uhuru's initiation of the ongoing war on graft and repeated pledges to fully support the push to flash out the menace.
Speaking on Sauti Ya Mwananchi Radio's 'Cheche' Saturday evening, Wamwere stated that the operation will stain Uhuru's legacy as he leaves office.
Noting that the anti-graft fight is mostly affecting high profile Kenyans, Koigi said that they will retaliate should he remain adamant.
"Hawa wafisadi ni watu walio karibu na serikali na lazima watapigana. Rais ajue atawekelewa kila aina ya dhambi na kurushiwa matope (he should prepare for anything in retaliation)," he said.
Uhuru has since admitted losing a number of friends in the ongoing operation, that has seen top state officers and politicians arrested and prosecuted.
The latest one to be nabbed is Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, who was on Tuesday arrested following an approval from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji.
Mwilu has, however, blamed Uhuru for her arrest, terming it the implementation of his initial threat to revenge after the Supreme Court annulled his reelection last year.
