Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o remains the top county chief among his peers in Kiambu, Mombasa, and Nairobi.
According to the results of a latest survey by research firm Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA), Nyong’o is the best governor with a 59% approval rating.
In May this year, TIFA released results of another survey where Nyong’o was ranked the best performing Governor with an approval rating of 56%.
He defeated Nairobi’s Mike Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko and Mombasa’s Ali Hassan Joho.
In the current survey, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu came second with 53% followed by Joho and Sonko who tied at 51%.
Sonko was, however, declared the most improved governor moving from 44% to 51%.
The research was based on various key issues among them business environment, Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), youth polytechnic education, public health services, access to clean water, and sewerage system management.
The Kisumu County boss has been credited for among others, improving street lighting in most estates of Kisumu such as Obunga, Manyatta, Nyawita and Nyalenda.
