Villagers of Matunwa in Kisii County are mourning the sudden death of a 24-year-old man who hanged himself on Sunday.
Confirming the incident area chief Richard Omai said the deceased Jared Mogaka hanged himself in his bedroom after family members had left to perform their daily activities.
"Mogaka looked disturbed on Saturday but, he didn't show any signs to family members that he could hang himself. His lifeless body was discovered in his bedroom by his younger sisters who raised alarm," said the chief.
Mr. Omai said it is not clear why Mogaka decided to end his life given that he has been having a good record in the area.
"Mogaka has been a social person and has never found himself in the wrong side of the law. Reasons for his suicide is still unclear because he didn't leave behind a suicide note," he noted.
The administrator assured that probe has commenced establishing what might have led the deceased to hang himself.
He urged to seek guidance from elders and members of the clergy whenever they face difficulties.
Omai said the body was moved to Christamarianne Mission Hospital morgue in Kisii.
