Khalwale, who recently joined Jubilee from Ford Kenya Party, has been leading Mariga's campaigns in Kibra, as he seeks to fill the vacancy left by the late Ken Okoth.

In a tweet on Friday, he said that the effort Mariga is employing will be worth it, predicting a major win for him in the much-awaited poll, which has attracted over 20 more aspirants.

Further, he claimed that Mariga, a former Parma midfielder belongs to the Hustler nation, a political narrative that was introduced by Deputy President William Ruto.

"Yes Mariga, keep chiseling. We are hustlers. U will strike gold on 7/Nov/2019," he said, though Mariga was at some point in the near past among the best paid African footballers.

He also echoed his earlier remarks that the Luo community in Kibra should rally behind Mariga, as a thank you token for the support the region has always enjoyed from the Luhya community.

According to Khalwale, ODM leader Raila Odinga has enjoyed the support and should reciprocate in November.

"Only a fool can break the voting partnership between our two communities! It has been perfectly right for Raila and Ken Okoth to drink from this political alliance for all these years. There is NOW absolutely nothing wrong in Mariga enjoying the same support," he added.

ODM has fronted Ken's brother Imran Okoth.
