A Ford Kenya legislator on Friday accused a section of politicians of 'hating' Deputy President William Ruto for no good reason.
West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi insisted that Deputy President William Ruto must succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 and serve for 10 years.
Mr Kemosi wondered why the country should change the constitution purposely to block Dr Ruto, who has shown abilities to lead.
"There is a lot of hypocrisy in this country. Some people want us to change the constitution just because they hate someone," Kemosi said at Ekerenyo on Friday.
"If they hate Ruto, let them leave Kenya. The fact remains that he must serve until 2032. He has shown abilities to lead and we shall support him."
Dr Ruto, who was also present during the function, said that the people of Kenya are past being taken for granted, adding that 'they can't be forced to do things'.
"We have shortage of fools. If you think that you'll force them to support something, then think twice. People are only concerned with development."
Present during the function were MPs Alfa Miruka, Joash Nyamoko, Caleb Kositany, Senator Samson Cherargei, Shadrack Mose among others.
