Former AFC Leopards coach Luc Eymael has dropped out of the race to replace former Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr at the helm of the Kenyan champions.
The Belgian was among the 30 coaches, who had shown keen interest to succeed Dylan Kerr, who was on Tuesday unveiled as the new coach of Black Leopards.
“I will not come to Kenya and have taken that decision. I will not sign for Gor Mahia. I will let you know when I sign for another club but it will not be Gor Mahia. The club is yet to get back to me and I already have other offers on the table that I will consider," he said when speaking to Goal.
“It is one week since I resigned from Free State Stars and have already received the release letter from the club. So I need to consider the options that I have on the table and get started again. Like I told you, I already miss the dugout and want to make a quick return,” he added.
On Tuesday, Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda revealed that over 30 coaches interested in joining Gor, as the club prepares for the start of the new Premier League.
“The list is big, they are over 30 and we will have to let our technical committee to handle the matter. We will pass the names to the committee and then they will look at their CV’s before they give us the final three, whom we will then sit down as NEC to pick one but also under the committee's guidance,“
The Kenyan Champions will face Malawi's Big Bullets in the first leg of the Caf Champions League on November 28 before the return leg on December 5.
