Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has responded to his Nyeri Town counterpart Ngunjiri Wambugu after the latter reminded Sudi that the 2007 post-election violence is still fresh in the minds of Kenyans.

Wambugu further noted that it was President Uhuru Kenyatta who convinced the Mt Kenya region to trust Deputy President William Ruto.

In a long Facebook post, Sudi accused Wambugu of engaging in a retrogressive style of politics driven by cash handouts, adding that unlike his colleague, his political stand is known by everyone including the president and his deputy.

"I am way beyond his retrogressive style of politics we've always witnessed him doing. I have always been candid and firm on my stands, I always speak my mind without influence from anyone. I am not in a calibre of leaders who are influenced by handouts like you. My political position is known and even William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta can attest to that," read part of Sudi's post.

Sudi further argued that the violence witnessed after the 2007 polls were allegedly caused by Raila Odinga's calls for mass action.

He, however, noted that the chaos witnessed then will never occur again in the country.

"You know nothing about what's going on in Rift Valley. The 2007/08 skirmishes happened because of Raila's call for countrywide mass action. I don't remember William Ruto vying for the presidency in 2007, I request you to tame your ignorance and revisit history once again. God saved us from 2007/08 mess and never again will Kikuyus and Kalenjins engage in clashes because of politics," further read the post.

He further hit out at Wambugu, noting that he should instead join him in liberating Kenyans from poverty rather than taking part in politics that divide the nation.

"Instead of joining us in this journey of liberating Kenyans from poverty, you are here busy parroting with politics of division," he added.
