Coast MPs Suleiman Dori and Aisha Jumwa faced the wrath of ODM on Thursday after the party’s NEC adopted a recommendation to kick them out of the party but one member defended the duo.
Kilifi North MP Owen Baya was the only member who felt that Jumwa and Dori were not given a fair hearing. Jumwa also believes that the right procedure was not obeyed while disciplining them.

“I do not recognise the purported report because my party leader and the entire Central Management Committee (CMC) was misled. In the spirit of handshake, who can’t forgive us? Everything is water under the bridge,” Jumwa said.
However, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna defended the decision stating that Jumwa and Dori had enough time to respond to the disciplinary report.
“These leaders were accorded adequate time to defend their positions in line with recommendations made by the disciplinary committee in a report which was presented to the NEC,” Sifuna said.
The Coast Parliamentary Group (CPG) chairperson, Suleiman Dori, and Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) member, Aisha Jumwa now await ratification of the NEC decision by the National Governing Council (NGC) in February.
