Political analyst Dismas Mokua has rubbished the heating debate around Deputy President William Ruto's alleged assassination plot.
Speaking on Sunday, the Mokua doubted claims that a meeting of 40 people was convened to plot the same, adding that the location of the meeting makes it even more laughable.
This follows allegations that a group of about 40 top state officials from Mt Kenya region have been holding meetings at La Mada Hotel to deliberate on the alleged issue.
However, according to Mokua, the fact that there were many people involved and the location's closeness to the National Intelligence Service (NIS) headquarters makes the claims questionable.
"It would take 40 mad men to go and sit in a room and say we don’t like the DP so we are going to assassinate him, these men have drivers and bodyguards and the meeting is taking place in the neighborhood of the national intelligence service," he said on KTN's Inside Politics.
He as well requested the investigative bodies to take up the matter and handle it secretly, advising that Kenyans are not interested in the tiny bits of the ongoing probe.
According to the commentator, Kenyans are only interested in the final product which is arrests and prosecution of the involved persons, and should not, therefore, treated to anything else.
"The best way would be to do the investigations under the radar. For us, we need to wake up in the morning and see that people have been arraigned because they were part of a plot to assassinate the deputy president," he added.
However, the DP is yet to record a statement in line with his fears.
