Sydney Mulangi, a fourth year student at Maseno University on Tuesday afternoon left his parents in Budalangi shaken up after he untimely returned home in a new Toyota Mark X.
Given his humble background, Sydney’s filthy life came as a surprise to his many friends and villagers who have witnessed his parents struggle with him.
The city campus student who had been writing for cash, placed a bet in February with Sh100 which earned him Sh156,000.
All along, he had a strong desire to own a writing account like his employers.
A friend had told him that acquiring an Uvocorp Account would be a get-rich quick idea.
Since he has been receiving increased workload and paid in foreign currency, the student has been able to get good money that has enabled him to venture into the matatu business in Kisumu.
“He has been writing for two people from Nairobi. When he won the bet, he said was going to get his new account. I have been writing for him since then. He owns a Matatu which makes him around Sh 21,000 every week,” said John.
Due to the constant flow of cash, the student has excelled economically besides purchasing a brand new Toyota Mark X for himself.
