Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that he is not depending on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga's support for his 2022 presidential bid.
Kalonzo says that he will go for the top seat with or without Raila's support.
The former Vice President states that though he signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) With Raila in 2017, he is not banking his hopes on the MoU
"I am getting ready and with or without Raila's support I will still be on the presidential ballot," the Wiper leader told journalists in Mwingi Town on Sunday.
Kalonzo said that he is not going to sacrifice his presidential bid again.
"I have sacrificed for long and its time now for other people to support me," he said.
Kalonzo said that his eyes are focused on 2022, exuding confidence that Kenyans will vote him in.
Kalonzo signed a MoU with Raila under the NASA coalition that was to see him automatically fly the Alliance's presidential flag in 2022.
There are, however, indications that Raila may not honour the MoU. Kalonzo is among top politicians who have declared an interest in the 2022 presidential election.
The former Vice President plans to rebrand his party in readiness for the 2022 general polls.
