Kibera Member of Parliament Kenneth Okoth has asked Kenyans to vote for the most impactful and honest comments made by Kenyan leaders in the first week of the New Year.
In a post seen on his Twitter account, the MP who was pushing for the legalisation of bhang for medicinal and financial purposes posted four comments by top Kenyan leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta and asked them to vote.
“It's the start of the year; and Kenyan politicians are saying rather dramatic and shocking things. Whose comments were most impactful and honest? #LaunchingWalevi -Kuria #StopRutoMovement -Murathe #DontBetrayRuto –Ngunjiri #WashenziWaachaneNami –Kenyatta,” he posted.
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria made his comment during the New Year celebrations while in Thika. He had attacked President Uhuru Kenyatta for neglecting the Mt. Kenya region in development projects. He accused him of launching rehabilitation centers.
Jubilee party vice-chairman David Murathe’s comment was directed at DP Ruto’s movement. Murathe has declared that he will move to courts to stop DP Ruto from vying for the presidential seat.
Bahati MP Ngunjiri’s comment came urging President Uhuru not to betray DP Ruto who helped him win the 2017 presidential elections.
President Uhuru’s comment was answering to his critics who are accusing him of under-development in the Mt. Kenya region and others accusing him of plots to dumb DP Ruto.
