Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi is nursing injuries after a nasty encounter with her colleague Rashid Amin of Wajir East.
The two are said to have argued on a matter before the Wajir East MP descended on her as colleagues watched in disbelief within parliament buildings.
It's could not be immediately established why the two were arguing. It took the intervention of parliament police to rescue the Woman Rep.
"Honourable Fatuma Gedi who has been beaten by Wajir East MP at the prencits of parliament. She is still crying from the beating. So sad," Nation Media investigative journalist Nyambega Gisesa wrote.
Orange Democratic Movement party Director of Communications Philip Etale also confirmed the incident, condemning it as uncalled for.
"Shock on MPs as a male Legislator from Wajir County slaps the County Woman Rep Hon. Fatuma Gedi at the lobby. Dignity gone," he said.
Members of Parliament are waiting for reading of 2019/20 budgetary estimations which will be tabled in parliament by Treasury boss Henry Rotich this afternoon.
Ms Gedi has been facing tribulations and it's only recently she appeared before Powers and Privileges Committee to explain how she obtained certain information from parliament for public use.
She had reported four MPs from Wajir among them Aldas MP Adan Keynan for allegedly leaking a sex tape in which it was claimed that it was hers.
