Some members of Parliament allied to Jubilee party want the National assembly to be dissolved in order calm the storm of divisive politics.
Led by Sirisia MP John Waluke Koyi, the MPs expressed concerns over the heated political temperatures in the country that are escalating day by day.
"The country is politically divided and we cannot do any meaningful business in Parliament with this kind of environment," said Waluke, as quoted by People Daily.
The MP said some MPs have already started appending their signatures to the petition. "About 85 percent of the MPs are in support of the petition to have the parliament dissolved," claimed Waluke. He did not give any evidence.
The vocal Jubilee MP, who was accompanied by Halima Mucheke (nominated) said the debate on 2022 succession politics had prematurely taken root and it was impossible to restore calm among MPs.
"The country has gone into politics in full swing and there is no way we can quell the pressure," he said.
Waluke also challenged the party leadership to frankly make public the reason behind David Murathe's resignation as the party Vice-chairman.
The Sirisia member of parliament sensed mischief in the resignation and believes there is mistrust and betrayal plans within the ruling party.
A similar call to dissolve the August house was made in August last year(2018) when allegations of some MPs receiving bribery to shoot down a sugar report reigned supreme.
