The Tuesday exercise saw the former Deputy Prime Minister, opposition leader Raila Odinga and Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka preside over the launch in different counties.

Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetangula was also involved, in what is now coming out as an agreement that was made after a joint meeting.

But Mudavadi has insisted that his involvement should not be translated as him having gotten into a work contract with the President, insisting that he remains in the opposition.

He said that he was only responding to calls by the President, and iit had noting to do with his party or anything to do with politics.

“What exists is a courtesy, a strong reciprocation of good manners from the government. The President had the good sense to invite us individually to grace two national, not party events, and it is only decent to accept such an invitation,” he told the Sunday Nation.

Mudavadi added that their political differences with the president doesn't make them enemies, and can lend a hand to the President without necessarily crossing over to join him.

“I have always emphasised that being political competitors shouldn’t be stretched into enmity. If I were president today, I would work for a friendly relationship with the opposition,” he added.

After the launch, Mudavadi has continued piling pressure on Uhuru to sack his corrupt officials, terming that the only way he can leave a legacy.

He was also present for Uhuru's state of the nation address at the Parliament on Thursday.
