Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba has mounted pressure on chiefs across the county after it emerged that some parents have not taken their children to form one.
Mr Mariba said chiefs have only one week to produce parents whose children are yet to report to school.
"Chiefs must report parents in their areas of jurisdiction who have failed to take their children to join form one. Chiefs who fail to report or arrest the parents within one week will be sacked and replaced," he stated.
The commissioner said the national government is investing more in education since future leaders must be learned.
"The government is offering free education and therefore, there is no valid reason parents will fail to take the children to school. Every child is entitled to education no matter what," he noted.
He assured that if in the next one week all pupils who sat for 2018 KCPE exams will not have reported to form one, police will go round each village to nab children who are loitering in villages.
"Nyamira must produce good leaders in future and this dream can only be actualized through education," he added.
