On Wednesday 13th February the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) released a CCTV footage of a suspect believed to be the one responsible for the Latema explosion.

The DCI detectives appealed to the public to forward any information that will help identify the person circled CCTV video.

"DCI Detectives investigating the #LatemaRd IED Explosion are appealing for the public’s help in identifying the person circled on the video," read a tweet from DCI.

The Latema explosion occurred on January 26th 2019 along Tom Mboya Street, two people were injured.

Reports indicated a middle-aged man had hired a cart-puller to carry a package across the city.

On reaching the Latema road and Tom Mboya street junction, the package owner told the cart-puller that he had forgotten his Identity Card at a shop across the street and excused himself to go and pick.

A few moments later, an improved explosive went of injuring two people in the process.
