In an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Jakoyo asked Raila to take action against the persons behind the chaos, adding that gone are the days when stone-throwing was a tactic to win an election.

“I abhor stone-throwing. I’d like to advise ODM to discipline the stone-throwers. We want a united Kenya. We want development and change,” he said.

He also blamed politicians for masterminding the chaos, arguing that there is no resident who can throw stones without the support of their leaders. He noted that he is saddened by the fact that some leaders have resorted to throwing stones with the aim of intimidating their opponents.

“Those who are stoning people cannot do so without the assistance of senior politicians,” he said.

He also asked different political parties to ensure that they carry out peaceful campaigns before Kibra by-elections are held on November 7, 2019.

This comes after Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi's convoy was pelted with stones during his tour of Kibra on Sunday.

The Kibra seat fell vacant after the demise of Ken Okoth. Okoth died after a long battle with cancer.
