Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat on Monday had a luncheon with locals of his rural village of Nyalilei as an appreciation for standing with him when he lost his wife last month.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Kiplagat said "I am really indebted to your generous support both in kind, financially and moral support. Thank you so much and may God bless you abundantly."
He further pledged to continue supporting the less fortunate in the society through his DK Foundation.
"My resolve to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate in the society through the DK Foundation will continue. Plans are underway to expand it's operations to cover a larger scope within Uasin Gishu County and to bring in more partners for collaboration for this worthy cause," noted the Speaker in his post.
He also pointed out that several beneficiaries of the foundation are currently working in various sectors within the county
The speakers' wife succumbed to road accident injuries last month while receiving treatment at Tophill Hospital in Eldoret town.
