Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has rubbished claims that the ODM party is plotting to use the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report for the buildup to the 2022 general elections.
According to Sifuna, all stakeholders have been invited to be part of the the campaigns to popularize and draw support for the report.
Sifuna further claimed that no individual had been forced to support the BBI report.
He went ahead to point out that it was ironical that some of the leaders who had declared their support for the document failed to turn up for the rally whose objective was in line with their declaration.
“Every leader was invited to the BBI forum in Kakamega. There are those who feel important and want special invitations. No one can be forced to attend these meetings but it is very ironical that they say they support the BBI but they don’t want to attend the BBI forums,” Sifuna stated on Monday as quoted by Citizen TV.
Deputy President William Ruto had earlier on claimed that the BBI report was crafted to favour ODM in the 2022 elections.
He also called upon some of the supporters of BBI report to stop using public resources for the campaigns.
"It is their right to plan but it is not right for them to use public resources or to pretend that they are in this BBI thing for the unity of the nation,” Ruto noted during a rally in Narok County last Sunday.
