A photo of Inspector General Joseph Boinet caused a stir after it emerged online.
In the photo posted on Twitter by Kibera Member of Parliament Kenneth Okoth on Wednesday, IG Boinet can be seen wearing the new blue police uniform.
MP Okoth captioned the picture:
“Comment fupi fupi tu. Please.”
Boinet’s blue uniform was somehow big for him, or rather, he looked small in that size of the uniform.
The new police uniforms are expected to be rolled out on December 12, when the country will be celebrating 55 years after independence.
They were unveiled back in September, on the same day that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta merge Administration Police and Kenya Police.
Residents came out in number to respond to MP Okoth “comment fupi fupi.”
Here are some of the comments from Kenyans on Twitter:
“Ata heri zile za G4S na Wells Fargo. Hizi zinamake KWS ikue military,” said Jeremy Omwenga.
“Looks like a Chinese contractor somewhere on Mombasa Road,” said Di_Key Mtemi.
“Blue Economy,” said Moses Njenga.
“The B in Boinnet also stands for Blue,” said Tez Lore.
“Nice pause and smart shoes,” said city lawyer Nelson Havi.
“Chinesed,” said Tobias Nyoike.
