"He was trying his luck in gambling using school fees money but, unfortunately, the bet didn't materialize. He lost the bet and this prompted him to take his own life," said the chief.
The administrator warned youths to stop misusing their money more especially school fees in gambling.
Kwaba regretted that university students have been using HELB loans to gamble instead of paying school fees.
"Parents should start paying school fees for their children to avoid similar cases like what Onyancha did," he noted.
The chief advised locals when faced with challenges in life to always seek guidance from counsellors and spiritual leaders.
Onyancha's body is currently being preserved at Kisii Teaching and referral hospital morgue.
