Deputy President William Ruto has yet again lashed at ODM leader Raila Odinga, accusing him of introducing toxic politics with an aim of dismantling Jubilee party.
At Turkana East on Sunday, Dr Ruto, who was accompanied by a host of local leaders, said Mr Odinga should keep off Jubilee party affairs and instead focus on building his party.
"I want to ask those people to stop propaganda. I want to ask those making noise, if you have a party, respect those of us in Jubilee. In Jubilee, we don't lie.
"If you are used to lying and conning people, that is not part of our political infrastructure in Jubilee. Do not export your bad manners to our party," he said.
Mr Odinga joined hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta last year and the two have taken the friendship to another level. Their partnership has angered the DP.
Last month, Uhuru told off Ruto, insisting that Mr Odinga was not interested in the affairs of Jubilee Party. Instead, the President said Odinga has been helpful in generating ideas on running of government.
“Oooh, Raila anavunja (breaking up) Jubilee; which Jubilee have we talked about? Oooh, Uhuru anaingilia mambo ya ODM (Uhuru is interfering in ODM matters); I have no clue even who ODM is,” said President Kenyatta
“We have just been talking about issues affecting our people. If its infrastructure, what do we need to do? We discuss and we support each other,” said the President. “We sit; we discuss; we agree. He (Mr Odinga) also gives me ideas that enhance something and make it even better. What is wrong with that?”
The war of words between Mr Odinga and Dr Ruto has escalated in recent weeks with the former insisting on Saturday at Bondo that Uhuru's supporters should not be bound to his MOU with Ruto in 2012.
