The Luhya nation is a vote-rich region but has never had a president or a serious presidential contender due to unending division in the region.

Political analyst Herman Manyora through his weekly YouTube analysis discussed how Luhya nation risks to be out of government in 2022 due to lack of proper, clear direction and division from their leaders.

The analyst argues that some Luhya leaders are in the 'tangatanga' team or the Ruto team and do not play any significant roles there.

Musalia Mudavadi, on the other hand, does not seem to embrace the handshake nor is he with Ruto.

He added that Musalia Mudavadi cannot be with Ruto because of the political stature that does not allow him to be Ruto's deputy.

The analyst says the Mulembe nation does not seem to read the signs of the time giving examples of Luhya leaders such as Boni Khalalwe who seems not to be aware of what's going on, Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya who seems to be joining 'ambivalent ' formation that is really making the community lack directions.

The professor wants the Luhya nation to put their house in order for them to have a good chance to form or be part of the government.

"I want to tell the Luhya nation put your house in order. This idea of running like a headless chicken because of handouts will not take the community anywhere," the analyst said.

He challenged the 'prince of the region ' Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi to take charge the way Raila Odinga does for Nyanza,  William Ruto for Rift valley and Uhuru Kenyatta for Central region to lead the Lugha nation out of the confusion seen currently.

The analyst added should Mudavadi feels the pressure to lead Luhya nation is too much for him, COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli should take charge.
