A section of Jubilee MPs has asked ODM leader Raila Odinga to keep off the 2022 succession agreement between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
Speaking in Nakuru, Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua and his Bahati counterpart Kimani Ngunjiri said that the ODM leader is the least qualified to speak about the promise President Kenyatta made to Ruto in 2013.
"We want to tell Raila to keep off Jubilee matters, he was not part of that agreement. Why is he commenting on issues that do not concern him? He is least qualified," said Gachagua.
The Mathira legislator noted that deal is still intact despite some rebels is the Jubilee Party liaising with the ODM Party to scuttle Ruto's presidential bid.
"There have been a few rebels within Jubilee and they work with people from ODM. They are the ones who have been going around abusing the deputy president," added the MP.
This comes a day after the deputy president accused Raila of causing disunity in the Jubilee Party.
"Deceit and conmanship is not part of our political infrastructure in Jubilee. If you are used to conning people in parties and deceit in your agreement with your fellow leaders do not import those bad manners to our political party," Ruto said in Kakuma, Turkana County.
Ruto was responding to Raila's remarks that Kenyans were not a party to his 2013 deal with President Kenyatta. The opposition chief further argued that Ruto should not impose his political will on Kenyans come 2022.
