Veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga has weighed in on the gruesome murder of Sharon Otieno.
Speaking Thursday in Nairobi, Mr Odinga strongly condemned the killing of the pregnant Rongo University student and called on authorities to bring the perpetrators to book.
"We want to condemn this act of thuggery in the strongest terms possible as a party. We hope that the perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to book quickly," Raila said.
The Rongo University student was found dead in the Kodera forest, disembowelled and with cuts in different parts of her body.
DCI sleuths have descended on Migori County with the purpose of establishing the circumstances of her death.
Governor Okoth Obado's personal assisstant has been arrested and is being interrogated by the police.
Kenyans have reacted with shock to the news of Sharon's death.
