In the latest trend, Garissa County is at it again, this time over DCI Kinoti's statement on why Governor Ali Korane has never been arrested despite being implicated in the shooting of the former finance CEC Idris Muktar.

Just a day ago, the lawyer representing the family of ailing Idris Mukhtar, Lawyer Charles Kanjama, raised concerns that some people were planning to eliminate him to end the court battle seeking to find justice for the CEC who is still in a critical condition.

Even after writing to the DCI, nothing much has been done apart from a statement issued on Wednesday by the DCI Director George Kinoti.

Netizens are now calling for the arrest of Korane under the hashtag #JusticeForIdriss.

Muktar was shot with lethal intent allegedly by hired assassins.

The Directorate of Investigations (DCI), in a statement, says that investigations into the attempted assassination are not yet complete.

Secondly, the rape incident allegedly implicating Shimpir Fatuma Secondary School Principal Mr Ibrahim Isaack Haasan of TSC Number 421218 has again placed the county on the spot.

Despite the named school being traced to Mandera county, many social media users refer the school as being in Garissa county, a thing that has made the region trend even more as netizens call for the arrest of the said school head.

Weeks ago, the county was again on the spot following reports that the Garissa Township MP was behind Governor Korane's woes and even plotting to have the county Assembly speaker impeached to paralyze meaningful progress in the region.

All the above events have made Garissa county trend, all for the not-so-good reasons.
