Ogolla, who is also a political commentator, said Ruto was becoming 'petty' after he linked Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga to the scandal in which Dubai royal family is said to have lost Sh400 million.

In a tweet on Monday, the lawyer said the Jubilee deputy party leader was implicating the former Prime Minister in order to extract 'political dividend' from the scam which has become the talk of the town.

"DP Ruto is quickly establishing his reputation for pettiness. Honestly, you'd have to stretch common sense to breaking points to see how an all-time busy Deputy President can create time to extract political dividend from the fake gold scandal by implicating Raila's name," Ogolla posted.

Ruto has come under criticism after he referred to opposition leaders as 'conmen' and linked them to the saga which the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti is still trying to unearth.

“These people are well-known and have evolved. They are now conning business people in the name of selling gold, which has turned out to be fake,” he said.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has accused the DP of abusing other leaders and wondered what was wrong with him.

"It’s very unfortunate the Deputy President of Kenya has off late resorted to abuses.. it’s really worrying!! What could it be for those who have studied psychology," remarked Junet.
