Shock and disbelieve has rocked residents of Moi's Bridge, Soy constituency after a man revealed how he has been receiving a thorough beaten from his dead wife every night.
Reuben Kosgey narrated how every night the wife appears to him and starts pinching him at his right hear before whipping him at his back for 10 to 20 minutes then she disappears.
The father of six said that the wife appears five times each night and always threatens to kill him if he could dare to scream.
Kosgey admits that he has been hiding the incident for a long time now but after several pains and sufferings, he decided to speak out to the villagers so that they can help him.
"I have been trying to hide this thinking that all will go well after sometimes. My wife died two years ago but I don't understand why this is happening to me now," he narrated while tears flowing.
The disturbed father also disclosed that despite keeping lights on throughout the night as informed by some of his neighbors, the dead wife stills appears to him.
According to Samuel Kimaru, a Kalenjin elder, sometimes this happens in the Kalenjin customs especially if the person who is dead was never sent off according to his/her wishes. However, the family/person affected can still seek forgiveness from the dead.
The 68- year old revealed that he would visit Kosgey's relatives and chat the way forward on what could have been in a mess before the wife died and together they would seek for forgiveness.
