As the prolonged detention of legislator Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu commonly called Bobi Wine continues in Uganda, Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili has given an ultimatum for his release.
In a Facebook post, Babu Owino as he is commonly known told Ugandans to use the better part of the day to demand the immediate release of the pop star and start the liberation action.
"Ugandans today Hon Bobi Wine must be released whether there is fire, teargas or bullets. Fear not. In Isaiah 41:13, the Bible says: For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear for I will you," read his Facebook post.
Babu Owino is a close ally of the Ugandan pop star with their core stems of liberation to inject youthful blood to leadership binding them together.
His sentiments come at a time the Ugandan authorities continue holding the legislator who was arrested on Monday after being under house arrest for close to one week.
Bobi Wine supporters have been clashing with the Ugandan ever since his detention seeking his release and ouster of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni accusing him of gross violation of human rights and the constitution.
President Museveni has been under heavy criticism after he manipulated the changing of the Presidential term limit which cleared him to vie for the sixth term as the President of Uganda.
