On Thursday 14th February 2019, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga met delegates from the leadership of the Kenya University Students' Organization (KUSO).

KUSO comprises of elected university students in their respective universities into a student's council.

In the meeting which took place at Capital Hill Square,  various issues were discussed including, but not limited to, the Building Bridges Initiative and the war on corruption.

Raila confirmed details of the meeting in a brief statement shared in a tweet on Thursday.

"Received a delegation comprised of the leadership from the Kenya University Students’ Organization at Capitol Hill Square and had a discussion with them on the Building Bridges initiative, the war on corruption and other issues of national importance," read a tweet by the African Union High Representative For Infrastructure Development.

University Student leaders have for a long time been part of Kenyan revolution,  most commonly known former university student leaders who later were involved in revolutionalizing and leading Kenya.

They include Senate Minority Leader and Siaya Senator James Orengo, Embakasi East Legislator Babu Owino, Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, Nasa Co-principal Musalia Mudavadi, Senate Majority Leader and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, Lawyer Miguna Miguna, Homa Bay County Woman Representative Glady's Wanga among other leaders were student leaders.
