Legislators from Rift Valley led by Joshua Kutuny had ganged against Murkomen, who also doubles as regional caucus chairman over what they termed as 'reckless talk'.

"Murkomen is so reckless that when he speaks, he spoils votes for the DP. He is a liability in our camp," said Kutuny.

And this resulted to a meeting on Wednesday at Weston Hotel in which the MPs had plotted to kick out Murkomen as their chair.

But in Karen, Ruto is said to have warned Murkomen against making 'critical ' statements without consulting his colleagues.

"He was at the DP's home on Wednesday along with Victor Wanyama and had gone to see the him so that he could rescue his position," an MP from Kericho said.

The team led by Kutuny, which has since reconciled with Murkomen, had taken issue with Elgeyo-Marakwet senator, accusing him of making pronouncements without consultations.

And the DP, who later prevailed upon Kutuny, also asked Murkomen to work with all elected MPs in Jubilee to avoid fallout.
