Preparations for the Eldoret Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show 2019 are almost complete.
Addressing journalists in his office on Thursday, Eldoret ASK show chairman Ratcliff Nangalama said the preparations are 95 per cent complete.
The show will run from March 6th to 9th under the theme "promoting innovation and technology in agriculture and trade".
“This year we have brought on board lecturers who will be teaching farmers on various sectors such as feed silage making, a component of land preparation, clean milk production, and animal husbandry among others,” said Nangalama.
He noted that a lecture hall has been created where farmers will receive the lessons and thereafter be taken for practicals.
"We have invited over 130 exhibitors and so far 109 have confirmed attendance and we expect the remaining to confirm by the end of the week. We also have 12 exhibitors from Tanzania," he said.
Nangalama further said the Eldoret show will officially be opened on Thursday, March 7, 2019, by President Uhuru Kenyatta who is the patron.
He further said that Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and Kesses MP Swarup Mishra have also confirmed attendance
Nangalama called on farmers from the North Rift region to come out in large numbers to receive training on technology that will help improve their yields.
