Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has defended politicians who give money and donations to churches.
Duale argues that no Christian, Muslim or Kenyan can be stopped from donating and helping the church.
In a video he shared on his Twitter handle, Duale criticised a section of leaders who he accused of spreading false agenda about giving to the church and mosques.
Duale likened the leaders opposing church harambees and donations to 'Satan', noting that those who give to the church and mosques know what they are doing.
He also stated that giving is a command by God and that they give and help the church and mosques because it is an investment in heaven.
"We are donating our money because in this world we are not staying forever, we will go to another world and we must have an investment there," Duale said in the video.
The debate about politicians giving money to churches continues to heat up in the country with ODM leader Raila Odinga and his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka among leaders who want churches to stop accepting money from politicians.
Raila claims that some corrupt politicians are using the church to 'sanitize' bloody money.
Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit has since cautioned Bishops against taking money and donations from politicians.
