Makueni County Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has finally broken silence on the alleged multi-million fake gold scandal allegedly involving top politicians and government officials.
Kilonzo Jnr took to his official Twitter handle to comment on the scandal that has elicited sharp reactions and drawn the country's attention.
“I have always wondered what a red beret armed to teeth police officer was doing outside a ram shackle at Kaputei gardens. He was guarding fake Gold! Senator Jnr tweeted.
In his tweet, the vocal Senator added, “Meanwhile, one of the persons of interest is getting exclusive interviews. Reminds me of the song.. money talks”.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is allegedly a man under the centre of the scandal and the DCI has confirmed that he will be summoned to shed light on what he knows.
Investigations into the alleged scandal are on top gear with detectives said to have been dispatched to the United Arabs Emirates to get statements from interested persons.
According to DCI George Kinoti, the gold scandal involves an intricate network of cartels, some within the government.
“The syndicate involves high and mighty across the world. But rest assured, I will nail each and every criminal involved in this fake gold,” Kinoti said as quoted by Citizen Digitial.
