Speaking on Radio Jambo’s ‘Mazungumzo Waziwazi’ Thursday evening, Nyoro proposed a new type of audit, this time targeting specific properties owned by the officers.

He said that the new mechanism dubbed ‘Asset Audit’ will help the government identify assets acquired through fraudulent means and their owners.

‘’Baada ya lifestyle audit sasa tulete Assets Audit ambayo nina uhakika itakamata wafanyikazi wengi wa serikali ambao wametumia ufisadi kujilimbikizia mali (lets now advance to the assets audit which will make even more revelations on corrupt state officials),’’ said the lawmaker.

This follows the release of the initial results of the concluded phase of the audit as was ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the report released by Government Spokesman Erick Kiraithe on August 20, 400 officials passed the test, in a where 458 officers took part.

The cleared ones were allowed to resume work, with Kiraithe noting that 30 percent of the vetted individuals couldn’t account for their wealth.
