There was drama on Wednesday at Bogusero, Miriri area in Gachuba ward after a 40-year-old woman stripped and walked naked on the road protesting her sister-in-law's decision to chase her from her house.
Residents said the woman, Christine Keango, a widow was forcibly evicted from her house with her 2 kids by her husband's sister Charity Kwamboka under unclear circumstances.
"Christine has been living alone at her two roomed mud walled house she was left with by her dead husband three years ago but Kwamboka has been in a continued disagreement over land inheritance. Kwamboka evicted her from the house on grounds that she is practicing witchcraft," said Jared Machoni.
Mr Machoni said angered Christine stripped and walked naked to area chief's office where she reported Kwamboka.
The area chief Raphael Nyagucha said she will never allow anyone to take what belongs to widows.
"Widows have a right to inherit properties their husbands leave behind when they die. Kwamboka should accept Christine as her late brother's wife failure to which I will blacklist her from stepping foot in the area," said the chief.
The administrator warned residents against harassing widows and orphans.
