Inspector General (IG) of Police Hillary Mutyambai has today visited Kisumu county on a tour aimed at familiarizing himself with the region’s security issues.
In a meeting with the region's security bosses in Kisumu, Mutyambai lauded the latter for the good work they have been doing.
“I am happy I have not received many reports about security issues from this region, let us keep the high spirit to maintain a conducive environment for businesses, private sector and the public for development,” he said.
The IG urged the regional security bosses especially police commanders to work very closely with the media, so as to ensure the right information is passed to the public.
“I have authorized all the police commanders to give you the right information so that you don’t report what is not accurate,” he told members of the press.
The Inspector General is in Kisumu for one day tour, and was received by Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong’o.
