Thirdway Alliance leader Dr Ekuru Aukot has weighed in on the raging Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) debate.
Through a Twitter post on Saturday, Aukot held the view that the initiative had turned Kenyans against each other instead of uniting them.
Alongside his tweet, Aukot shared an image of police trucks at Mumias Stadium where a parallel meeting was to be held by leaders opposed to the BBI.
According to Aukot, the force was being employed to muzzle those against the BBI or with an alternative view.
''We seem to be clearly at war with ourselves. Try having an alternative political idea and you will be crushed. Thanks to #BBI, '' Dr Ekuru Aukot's tweet read.
Over a month after the BBI report was launched at the Bomas of Kenya, divisions seem to be taking hold as politicians exchange harsh words over the initiative.
Critics have held that it is a cynical ploy by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his long-time political adversary Raila Odinga to cling onto power.
Both leaders have denied the claims stating that BBI is meant to unite the country.
