Former Top athletics official David Okeyo has been handed a life ban from the sport's world ruling body, IAAF, over corrupt practices.
Okeyo was found guilty of diverting funds from a contract between AK and sports giant Nike to his "own personal benefit".
Okeyo, a former Secretary-General as well as a member of the IAAF Council, was in November 2015 suspended from all matters athletics, alongside other Kenyan officials; former AK president Isaiah Kiplagat, who died in August 2016, and AK treasurer Joseph Kinyua.
Okeyo has also been accused of extorting money from athletes in relation to anti-doping procedures, but a decision on those charges has yet to be made.
“Mr Okeyo should be expelled from his office as a member of the IAAF Council and banned for life from taking or holding any office in the sport or taking part in any Athletics related activity,” the 74-page Ethics Board report reads in part.
Okeyo has hinted that he will appeal the decision, with the law allowing him to file an appeal within 21 days.
