While campaigning in 2017, the duo had promised to have Igena-Itambe dispensary completed besides donating a brand new school bus to Nyachogochogo secondary school.

At a requiem mass at Holly Family Basilica, Uhuru, full of memories, could not wait to make his promise public despite hundreds of issues he handles per day.

"I know there are those who think that I forget easily. I have worked with Henry and even made promises back in Kisii. He was a man full of kindness and honesty.

"In two weeks time, I have ordered my team to deliver a new school bus to Nyachogochogo secondary school. Also, I have ordered the ministry of health to ensure Igena-Itambe dispensary is completed," said Uhuru.

Despite his long spells in Ford Kenya and Ford People, Obwocha would later back Uhuru in hotly contested 2017 polls even though he did not run for elective seats.

He served as West Mugirango MP from 1992-2007 where he lost to ODM's Dr. James Gesami after almost 16 years in active politics. He also served as Economic Planning and National Development minister.
