In an interesting twist of events, two obituaries with conflicting dates of burial for the late mother of former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech, Mary Auma has surfaced.
The obituaries clearly show the family tussle existent among the family members of the deceased. The obituaries were published in Daily Nation.
The first one, which appeared on Page 45 of the local daily, says that the burial will be conducted on August 18, 2018 at the family home in Ratta-Seme, Kisumu county.
The second obituary, which was published on page 46 of the local daily announced that the remains of the deceased will be transferred from Umash Funeral Home on August 9, 2018 for a requiem mass at Uhuru Church.
Sources indicate that the first one was placed by Oliech’s sister while the second obituary was done by the sons. Several leaders have continued to mourn the death of Mama. In his message of condolence, Uhuru termed Mama’s death as a big loss to the nation.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing on of Mama Oliech this evening. My heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Mama Mary Auma, and indeed all Kenyans. May our Lord bless and comfort all of you during this time of grief. #RIPMamaOliech,” Uhuru wrote.
