Preparations for this year's national examinations are still ongoing in various schools as the government announces completion of printing of the exam papers.
The exam body on Tuesday said that they have completed printing of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) acting CEO Mercy Karogo said candidates should now focus on their studies and prepare for the exams.
“We are now ready and we want the candidates to concentrate on completion of the syllabus and to avoid doing things that will compromise the examinations,” said Dr Karogo as quoted by standardmedia.co.ke.
Dr Karogo further said that the exam body expects processing and release of KCPE exam results to be completed by end of November 2019 while that of KCSE is expected to be completed before December 25.
The Education Ministry said security will be tighter than last year to curb cheating and to guarantee credible examinations.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha said they have also ensured that measures have been put in place to prevent anyone from gaining access to or leaking the examination contents.
“We have done all that is required of us to prepare and protect the examinations. No one will access the question papers before time. Parents and candidates must not be fooled,” said Prof Magoha.
