Mr Osumo, MCAs argue, recruited one of his sons Mbuvi Osumo to the county government without due process. And as such, a motion of impeachment awaits him on Tuesday.

"MCAs have crafted an impeachment motion. He will be toppled on Tuesday. They accuse him of  gross misconduct and abuse of office. They are so many and I assure you things are very tough for him. He has spent sleepless nights over the same," the officer said.

Incidentally, Osumo was tasked by Governor John Nyagarama to spearhead payroll clean up following reports that several people could have been hired irregularly.

The latest development could sabotage the assignment by governor with sources indicating that already, it has emerged that over 700 people were irregularly recruited to office.

But Majority Leader Duke Masira said he's not aware of such a motion, adding that he is also learning the reports on various social media forums.

"Members have a right to initiate such motions. However, am yet to see any. Let us wait until Tuesday. I am also reading social media reports and I cannot say much," he said.

Should Osumo be impeached, he will he the second minister to exit government  in under six months, following the unprecedented exit of Jackie Momanyi, the former Finance executive.
