Politicians allied to Team Kieleweke have once again lashed out at Deputy President William Ruto for allegedly engaging in early politics.
Speaking during a church service at the Anglican Church of Kenya Kasarani in Nairobi on Sunday, the Kieleweke team reprimanded the DP for defying the President's calls against early campaigns.
Led by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, the group claimed that Ruto has shown an unwillingness to rally behind Uhuru's development agenda.
He maintained that early politicking is sabotaging Uhuru's Big Four agenda.
Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny stressed on the need for the DP to opt out if he cannot cease politicking.
“When Uhuru is busy pushing for his agenda, his deputy is busy asking for 2022 votes. Those who are not ready to support the President in achieving his dream for this country should get out to allow him to achieve his agenda,” stated Kutunny.
Ngunjiri noted that the team doesn't have any bad blood with Ruto's Tanga Tanga team, but is only concerned that it is hijacking the nation and forcing it into the campaign mode, years to the actual poll.
“What we are asking the other camp is that can we work until the right time for campaigns? We are not fighting them but asking them to respect the President,” said the lawmaker.
Present leaders included Kiambu Deputy Governor James Nyoro, Former Dagoreti South MP Dennis Waweru and host MP Mercy Gakuya.
