President Uhuru Kenyatta has been forced to cancel his trip to Migori county which was scheduled for Friday, July 6.
Uhuru was to tour the region together with his Tanzania counterpart John Pombe Magufuli.
Organisers of the trip said that they have been forced to reschedule the visit in order to accompany several other people.
However, Rongo MP Paul Abuor said it was deferred because opposition leader Raila Odinga had not returned from his tour of India.
Raila is in India where he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a government ambassador.
His trip has opened the lid on his role in government with pundits saying the opposition leader is rendering Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma jobless.
Raila Odinga, his wife Ida Odinga and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We spoke on increased Indian investment in Kenya both in the industry and particularly in the health sector but also touched on the Maritime agreement, whose aim is to boost transportation, trade and activity in Lake Victoria to see Kenya trade better with its neighbours via the lake,” Odinga said on Twitter.
