Few days after meeting US President Donald Trump at White House, world's best teacher Peter Tabichi on Thursday returned to Western America for a series of tours.
In his bid to lobby for support towards Maths and Science in Africa, Brother Tabichi toured Cisco and Facebook companies in California.
Facebook is the largest social media company and has been supporting various poverty eradication projects across African, Asia and Latin America.
"Great to be welcomed with a Kenyan flag at the Cisco and Facebook companies at their headquarters in California. Got an opportunity to encourage them to do more with STEM education in Africa," he said.
The Keriko secondary school teacher is determined to have Africa investing much in education sciences in a bid to improve technological advancement.
Tabichi, a Franciscan priest, will become the first professional to address UN general assembly this month in New York where he's expected to discuss issues to do with children.
Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi on Sunday said Tabichi's achievements are worth to emulate, adding that he has out Nyamira in the global map.
"When you do the right thing, good things come afterwards. He has out Nyamira in the global map and we are thankful for the latest recognition," she said.
At an event in Kerora, Kemera MCA George Morara hailed Tabichi as a global citizen whose commitment to change lives of children and other people remains in his heart.
"I am thrilled to hear about his progress. He comes from this ward but he's now a global citizen. We shall continue giving him support as leaders," he added.
Tabichi, a Maths and Physics teacher in Keriko secondary, won Sh100 million early this year. He vowed to use part of the money to help vulnerable children.
At Nyamira, Governor Nyagarama received him before holding a homecoming party for him at Mokorongosi village in Kemera ward.
